702 Park Project - office plans

In case you missed it, I’ll be giving my new home office a drab to fab makeover. You can learn more about me and my plans for the office here:

Week 2
Week 3.
Week 4

Over the weekend, we took down the old curtains, and Charles and I put together my Alex desk from Ikea. The verdict is in: I love it!! It’s really simple and sleek. (PS- I have the best handy husband!)

Side note: The first photo shows the scale of the room and the windows much better. Charles is 6′ tall…the window is 9′ tall, and the ceilings are 10′ tall.

What’s left:

  1. Hang custom curtains from Tonic Living
  2. Add one more coat of Amy Howard lacquer to bookshelves
  3. Cover back of painted bookshelves
  4. Bring in furniture and style the room

It’s gonna be a busy week! The weather here has been rainy and nasty for about the past week, so I’ve gotten a little behind on my bookshelves. I’m hoping to have a few good days to get those finished!

I’m also feeling a little unsure about the rug now. With all of the white elements moving in, the “white” in the rug has proven to not actually be white, but more of a cream. I’ve ordered another similar rug, so we’ll see which one works best.

  1. Love the rug. Your walls don’t appear to be a white white. On my monitor they appear to have yellow undertones like your rug which comes across as a warm white. There is definitely a contrast between your walls and trim. Food for thought a white white rug probably won’t stay that way for long. Your desk on the other hand looks like a white white that matches your trim. I think it’s perfectly o.k. for you to have several shades of white to balance warm tones with cool tones. You have good taste so I’m confident you’re going to pull it all together!
