I’m not a red person. It’s just not my favorite color (unless we’re talking about NC State — Go Pack!). In fact, we don’t really have any red in our house other than the art in our master bathroom. And that was a total fluke…I borrowed it from a local interior design shop to test out the size, knowing that I would hate the colors in our bathroom. But I actually loved it. It’s just the pop that room needed!
So that’s how I take my red: in pops. While I totally respect and admire a bright red room, it’s just not something you’re going to find in my house.
But each year when February rolls around, I can’t help but be drawn to a few red things in honor of Valentine’s Day. So today I thought I’d share some of my favorite red pops!

I find red stimulating and exciting. I love being surrounded by it. I have a red ultra suede sofa and lots of red in artwork, cushions and accessories. It may have something to do with being an Aries. I was so delighted when you went with red for your front door. I looooove red doors.

Years ago I would have agreed with you on red but after finding the perfect 1860’s chesterfield that happened to be upholstered in red leather I’ve changed my mind. I loved the sofa but thought I’d immediately have it recovered but once it was put into my living room it only took about 5 minutes to make me stop and rethink things. Red has since taken over. I never would have realized how wonderful it is to live surrounded by red until this happy accident.
I share your idea on red color. I am not a big fan of it in my home, but I admire how people can add it to their space. I really like it as a piece against dark walls and other furniture pieces. Thank you for sharing these fabulous pics.
