The Sunday Currently, #38

Sorry the Currently is coming to you a little late today. We’ve been working on the house non-stop today and just finally sat down.  Three new blinds hung, lots of pictures hung, furniture rearranged…it was a productive day.  How was your weekend?

Currently:

Reading– These secrets to success from the super-talented girls at A Beautiful Mess.

Writing– My weekly to do list.

Thinking– About how sweet this story is.

Smelling– Cleaning product! I should probably open a window.

Wearing– A summer scarf in hopes that fall will arrive soon. This NC summer has been a breeze compared to our usual dog days, but I’m still ready for crisp air, boots, scarves, football, gray nail polish, and pumpkin spice lattes!

Loving– These unique hardware options, all available on Etsy!

Wanting– Every single one of Jeremiah Goodman‘s illustrations.  His Instagram is fantastic! Thanks Elizabeth for the introduction!

Needing– Sleep. Much more sleep.

Feeling– Saddened by the death of Robin Williams, and touched by Sam’s honest account of her experiences. I’ve learned through my experiences and this recent event that even the most outwardly happy people can sometimes be secretly struggling to control their mental state of mind.  And unless you share your struggles, the isolation can overwhelm you.” You never know what’s going on with someone. Be kind to each other.

Clicking– This entertaining analysis of hip-hop artists and their vocabularies.  Congratulations, Aesop Rock. DMX…get it together!

Happy Sunday, lovelies! I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend so far!

Charles was off hosting my brother’s bachelor party this weekend, so Friday was the first night I’ve spent alone in the house. Eeeek! I was so nervous!  I lived alone for years before we got married, and I’ve never had trouble staying by myself, but let me tell you something…no matter how brave you are, your first night in a big, old, creaky, noisy, 112-year-old house is scurrrry.

Currently:

Reading– This thought-provoking post on bloggers getting paid.  What’s so wrong with making a buck off of something you love to do, anyway?

Thinking– There were some pretty spectacular home tours out there this week. I especially loved the homes of Tory Burch, Darius Rucker, and Tiffany Leigh! (And while we’re at it, how about this trailer makeover?!)

tory-burch-office-600x553

Wishing– I had a green thumb.  But check out these FREE printables from Julie…a garden journal, garden guide, garden plans, and notes.

Hoping– I never have house guests that need the #1 item we always forget.

Wearing– OPI Taupe-less Beach on my fingers and OPI Paint My Moji-toes on my toes!

Loving– Sarah’s entry reveal. Those floors!!

entry-mudroom-10

Wanting– These coasters. So cute!

Needing– To install our vanity hardware, hang our vanity mirrors, paint the front screen door, refinish a dresser, hang a gallery wall… you know, just a few small things.

Feeling– Nervous about painting our wing-back chairs. But the case of navy paint from Rustoleum came this week, and I’ve been reading up on these success stories, so here goes!

Clicking– Michaela’s compilation of design do’s and don’ts.

And because I just can’t resist sharing, this.
