Green Inspiration For St. Patrick’s Day

I hope you’re ready to be overloaded with GREEN!! St. Patrick’s Day is tomorrow, and while I don’t have fancy green cocktails or yummy green treats to share, I do have LOTS of green interiors to fill you up!

You may remember that I shared some red inspiration around Valentine’s Day, and admitted that red is not my favorite. Green is a different story! I love green! One of our guest bedrooms is green and it always feels fresh and cheery.

There are two basic ways to bring green into your home…

#1: Go all out! Paint some walls. Add some wallpaper. Go crazy!

#2: Add some pops! Incorporating green into your home design doesn’t have to feel forced or overwhelming. Just add a few pops of green here and there to spice up a neutral space.

Still not sure green is your thing? Add in a plant or two and see how you like it!

Southern Ideal Home Show GIVEAWAY {ENDED}

This year I’m making more of an effort to attend home tours and home shows across the state. They are usually fairly inexpensive, if not free, and provide a wealth of inspiration!

The Southern Ideal Home Show in Raleigh, NC is the Triangle’s largest home and garden event. The spring show will be April 10-12 at the NC State Fairgrounds and will feature over 300 top area professionals in home and garden.

Guests are encouraged to come with their to-do lists as this year’s show will feature more ideas and solutions than ever before. The show will spotlight the latest in building, outdoor living, kitchen and bath, remodeling, interior decorating and more. There will be several specialty features too, including a Sip and Savor event highlighting food pairings from local restaurants, breweries and wineries. The home show will also have a High Performance, Green Building Pavilion that showcases the benefits of renewable energy and green building practices in the Triangle.

What I’m most excited about: the Southern Ideal Home Show has partnered with Jamie Meares, owner of Furbish Studio in Raleigh and blogger at I Suwannee for an entertaining extravaganza. Jamie will present four workshops with valuable, take-home entertaining ideas. In addition, Jamie, along with other local companies, will completely transform designated areas of the show to display several different tablescapes showcasing countless decorating ideas for entertaining.

Tickets are available at the door for $9 and children under 15 get in free with a paying adult. From Winter to Spring with Chairish

Is it just me, or has this winter just dragged on and on? I’m ready for some green grass, fresh flowers, and sunny days! So when Chairish asked me to take a room from white to bright, I was all about it.

Chairish sent me a few rug options to center my room around, and it was an easy choice for me. I’ve been on a real navy and pink kick lately, so the obvious winner was the Blue Persian Sarouk Rug. I love the variations of blues and pinks in this rug…it just feels like Spring!

Because I am so in love with my own pink sofa, I thought I’d add this gorgeous tufted lady to pick up the pinks in the rug. And you know it wouldn’t truly be a Sarah room without a touch a bunch of brass!

I love the idea of having a trunk serve as a coffee table. The glass and brass tables are oh so pretty, but smudges and fingerprints on the glass can make a room look untidy in a hurry. With the trunk, you can add books, magazines, a tray, a vase of flowers, or whatever other knick knacks you’d like and it will still look nice and neat.

So without further adieu, here’s my bright and Springy room design!
