Our Spring To Do List

The countdown to spring is on! Just 16 more days!

By the end of last spring, we were so burned out from all of the projects we’d completed recently that we decided to not try to tackle anything new for the summer. We agreed to just relax, enjoy the house, and take a break. And that’s exactly what we did.

The hiatus lasted a little longer than we originally intended, but we just haven’t felt motivated to get started again on all of the little (and a few of the big) projects on our list. But after going through all of our old before photos in prepping for my Home Show presentation, Charles and I both got the bug.

Instead of naming off 20 things that we want to accomplish, I decided to stick with 5. Some will take an hour, some a day, and some a few months. But this list feels manageable, so this is where we start.

  1. Install flag on front porch – We’ve got to fill in the old flag holes in the left center column and install a new holder.
  2. Get new porch pillows – The front needs a springy pop of color!
  3. Power wash – The whole house could use a spray down, but our porches in particular are filthy.
  4. Clean up back porch – Our back porch was a little neglected during the fall and winter, so I want to get it back to this.
  5. Get started on landscaping – This is pretty broad, I know. We’ve cleared out the entire back yard and will start adding in some new plants and beds this weekend.
