Let’s just get this out there: I love Halloween! I’m crazy about scary movies (even when I know I won’t sleep for a week!), and I love hearing all of the ghost stories and scary tales that always seem to pick up around this time of year.

I don’t consider myself a pack rat. Far from it, actually. I’m more likely to hastily get rid of something and then regret it later. But for some reason, when it comes to makeup, I’ve become a hoarder. So this past Sunday, I decided to get organized!

The title of this one is actually a little misleading, because the answer is that it’s almost impossible. At least for me it is. But after almost 18 months of blogging, I feel that my skin has grown thicker and I can finally share a little insight.
On Monday, I shared a little about our time in the cute little town of Sylva, NC. Today I want to tell you about our trip to the big house!
The Biltmore Estate is the largest home in the country and is located in Asheville. Built in 1895, it sits on 8,000 acres in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Biltmore was built by the Vanderbilt family and is still family owned. The house itself is over 176,000 square feet with 250 rooms 65 fireplaces, and 3 kitchens. Because who doesn’t need 3 kitchens?!
Last week, Charles and I took a trip to the western part of the state. I had a board meeting in Sylva, NC on Friday, so we decided to make a little getaway out of it. After spending the day in Sylva on Friday, we headed to Asheville to tour the Biltmore Estate on Saturday. It was the perfect little reprieve from our crazy busy lives, and just what we needed!
Sylva is located between the Blue Ridge Mountains and Smokey Mountains, about an hour west of Asheville. Downtown Sylva has so much more to offer than I ever would have guessed!
