Hi friends! I hope you had a super weekend. I’m so very excited to bring you the first Monday GIveaway!

I’m a big champagne lover. You know that saying…”Always keep a bottle of champagne in the fridge for special occasions. Sometimes the special occasion is that you’ve got a bottle of champagne in the fridge.” Yep, that’s me.

So of course I’m obsessed with this glam button.

Bringing The Good Stuff To You – A Thank You!

In lieu of the usual Quotable Friday, I wanted to chat with you for a minute.

Blogging is fun. It’s a whole lot of work, but it’s fun. And I’ve found that, like most things, you get out of it what you put into it.

702parkproject - oh simple thoughts

There are some bloggers out there that just want to drive traffic and scream to everyone, “Look at me!” But they don’t really give anything back. (And no, this is not a conversation about bloggers making money. I make money from my blog and anyone who says bloggers shouldn’t make money has never actually put in the work to run a blog.)  I realize that the only reason I have a semi-successful blog is because of you…the readers. I appreciate each of you more than you could possibly know. I love your comments and questions, even when I don’t agree. You keep me on my toes.

That’s why, starting next Monday, I’ll be hosting regular weekly giveaways for no other reason than to bring the good stuff to you! It might be for 6 weeks, or 6 months, or longer. I haven’t decided yet. But it’s just a small way for me to say thank you.

I’ve got some pretty stellar art and gifts lined up, including this adorable button, a custom address stamp, and even a gift card to this shop. Each weekly prize will have a value of at least $50, and sometimes much more.

And don’t worry…I won’t be using these giveaways as an excuse to skip a day of blogging. On the days that I host a giveaway, you’ll also find a regularly scheduled blog post as well.

So I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and I’ll see you back here on Monday for the first big giveaway! :)

Luxury Boxes: When Interior Design & Sports Come Together

I read this post a few weeks back and was completely enthralled. Two of my favorite things coming together: sports and interior design! I mean, what’s not to like?

Clark Hunt, owner of the Kansas City Chiefs, had this luxury suite built in Arrowhead Stadium. With thee stories and six bedrooms, the “box” has everything you could ever need!

Not bad, right?

The article also reminds us of the original “luxury box” — the Houston Astrodome built by Dallas Mayor Judge Ray Hofheinz in 1965. As if the sports and concerts going on in the Astrodome weren’t enough entertainment, Hofheinz’s suite had an office, a boardroom, a swanky bar, a barber shop, a beauty parlor, a playroom, a bowling alley, a putting green, a shooting gallery, a pool table, and even a presidential suite!

But wait, there’s more! You can find sneak peeks into more luxury boxes here.

The Herring Hulse Designer Showcase Home

Those of you that know me know that I can’t sit still for long. I like to cram my plate as full as possible. It’s just my nature…I’m happiest when I’m the busiest.

So today I’d like to introduce you to my latest project: The Herring Hulse Designer Showcase Home. Basically, we’re taking a run-down historic home in downtown Goldsboro, NC and transforming it into something beautiful, which will be on display later this Spring. The Designer Home will feature not only the work of talented designers from across the state, including Pottery Barn, Ethan Allen, and Ferguson Bath, but also florists, landscape architects, and gardeners. (To clarify, I’m no designer, nor do I pretend to be…I’ll be heading up the marketing efforts and coordinating volunteers for this project.)
