This Week’s Links

This weekend is tour weekend. Yesterday I went over to New Bern for the historic homes and gardens tour. And today I’m heading to Raleigh for the Southern Ideal Home Show! All this inspiration is getting me excited for the Herring Hulse House debut!

I seriously cannot wait for this tomorrow.

A glamorous black & white & gold tablescape.

The list is in.

This sounds like the perfect summer cocktail.

I’m so thrilled for my friend Amy! Those twins are just precious!

I’d love one of these for our back porch.

I loved this closet door makeover.

And speaking of makeovers, check out this gorgeous kitchen.

One Room Challenge – Week 2

Welcome to Week 2 of the One Room Challenge link up!

Last week, I shared my plans for the makeover of our two-story back porch.  As a refresher, here’s the to-do list:

  1. Paint the porches
  2. Paint the doors red to match the front.
  3. Install new lighting on the downstairs porch.
  4. Add rugs, furniture, pillow, plants, curtains, wall art, and accessories!

The porches are officially painted! Unfortunately, they look more yellow than gray right now. Thanks pollen.

I found an outdoor pillow at HomeGoods to pull the decor around:

Fun and springy, right?

I made a trip to Ikea last Friday to pick up a few things the whole store. It was a very successful trip!

Among other things, I picked up these chairs, a few of these lanterns, and the cutest little mini trash can (or charcoal holder) ever!

Next, I need to find a couple of rugs (I’ve ordered one…fingers crossed!), curtains, a light fixture for the downstairs porch, and more furniture for the upstairs porch. Only 4 more weeks!!

Be sure to check out what everyone else is up to here.

What’s On Your…Coffee Table?

Well, sometimes life just gets in the way. This is one of those times. Sadly, Charles’ sweet grandfather passed away last Friday, and today we’ll be saying our final goodbyes. As I’m sure you all understand, family comes before the blog any day.

I don’t know about you, but I love an address stamp! The beauty of a stamp is that you can use it over and over and never have to worry about running out of labels or reordering. A couple of years ago, I asked for this address stamp from Angelique Ink for Christmas and have loved it ever since! I especially love the mix of handwritten calligraphy and block type. Isn’t it gorgeous?!
