An American Foursquare Restoration

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. One of my very favorite things about blogging is the community that you find out there in blogland. Whether I’m looking for inspiration, advice, or encouragement, that community is always out there, ready to help. So it makes me very happy whenever I can repay the favor and pass on a little of my experience.

I got the sweetest email from Jenny in Tampa last week. She and her husband have just bought a 1918 historic foursquare in the heart of Tampa, FL. She told me that she had stumbled upon my blog and had gotten lost in the archives, and was excited to find a new resource to help them along in their restoration.

So of course, I asked to see the house!

Charleston Charm

It’s almost here! This weekend I’m heading to Charleston, SC to meet up with some pretty fabulous people for the Southern Blog Society Conference. Charleston has been one of my favorite cities for a very long time. I used to go with my family growing up, and even “almost” went to school at CofC not once but twice!

My favorite thing about Charleston is easily the historic homes and architecture. Yes, there are so many good places to eat and drink (I plan to hit a lot of them!), but you just can’t beat the Southern Living-esque view you get just walking down the cobbled streets. Today I wanted to share just a few of my favorite scenes from The Holy City.

Thundershirt To The Rescue with Chewy.com

This post is in collaboration with Chewy.com. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Disclaimer:
First of all, just let me say that Sully is a very happy little boy. But for some reason, he always ends up looking either stoic or depressed in photos. (Case in point.)
Secondly, this experience has taught me to never be a pet photographer. Sully is usually incredibly calm, but when the camera was on him, he just got way too excited. That’s why a few photos are blurry and you see my assistant husband helping to keep him in one place.
