Charlie’s Birth Story

I can’t believe my baby is 6 weeks old today. Time is flying by!! I’ve had some people ask about Charlie’s birth, so I figured I’d share it here as a way to document and remember the details. Plus, I’m one of those people who loves birth stories!

There’s also another reason I wanted to share the story of Charlie’s arrival. I feel like most women, before giving birth, only hear the horror stories. Everyone seems to have one to share. You never hear about the ones that go perfectly. And since mine really did, I wanted to share for any mamas-to-be out there to prove that labor is not all bad. So here goes…

Nursery Update – Almost Finished!

I can’t believe that baby Charlie’s due date is just 3 days away! I feel like this pregnancy has really flown by, and I can’t wait to meet our little bundle of joy!

Along the way, I’ve shared a bit of our nursery progress, and we’re just about finished. This room originally started out as my home office, but we moved my office to this room so that Charlie could be close to us upstairs.

Part of the problem in our house is that we put the Christmas tree right smack dab in the middle of our foyer. I absolutely love it! It definitely gives a wow factor when you walk in the door (and also it’s great because the rest of the house can be a mess but all you can see is the giant tree!). But it does mean that our tree has to look good from all sides, including the tree topper. FYI, I do plan to do at least a partial Christmas house tour later on the blog, but for today I just wanted to talk about this topic that has me on the fence.

My Newly Relocated Home Office

Remember this office? Well it is officially becoming the nursery for baby Charlie, so I had to make moves on finding another location for my home office. After kicking around a few ideas, we decided it made the most sense to make our formal living room into my office.

This room, while pretty, rarely got used and just seemed like a waste of space. Well today I’m excited to share that it has been converted! Take a look!
