Welcome back, friends! I hope y’all had a wonderful Christmas break and are getting into the swing of 2018! We had a nice, fairly relaxing Christmas with family and even got to get away to the beach for a few days. Since then, we’ve been trying to get everything ready for our little bundle of joy to arrive in February.
Today I wanted to share a big update on all the progress we’ve made in Charlie’s nursery. Settle in, because this is gonna be a long one!
Confession: I’ve never owned a Christmas tree topper that I loved. I’m happy to see that in the days of anything goes, there are a lot more options for toppers, but I’m not totally sold on any of them.
Part of the problem in our house is that we put the Christmas tree right smack dab in the middle of our foyer. I absolutely love it! It definitely gives a wow factor when you walk in the door (and also it’s great because the rest of the house can be a mess but all you can see is the giant tree!). But it does mean that our tree has to look good from all sides, including the tree topper. FYI, I do plan to do at least a partial Christmas house tour later on the blog, but for today I just wanted to talk about this topic that has me on the fence.
Remember this office? Well it is officially becoming the nursery for baby Charlie, so I had to make moves on finding another location for my home office. After kicking around a few ideas, we decided it made the most sense to make our formal living room into my office.
This room, while pretty, rarely got used and just seemed like a waste of space. Well today I’m excited to share that it has been converted! Take a look!
Last Friday was the start of my 27th week, which means my second trimester is just about over! This pregnancy has seriously flown by. I can’t believe that in less than 3 months we’ll be meeting our sweet Charlie!
It still kind of weirds me out that I’m going to be a mom. Most of my friends are already moms and make it look so natural. But in my mind I still have this feeling like I’m not old enough to be a mom. Like I’m not really an adult. Is that just me or does every pregnant lady experience that?
One Room Challenge reveals were last week and I swear this challenge just gets better and better! If you’re not familiar with the ORC, it’s a biannual event (currently in it’s 12th season!) that was started by Linda of Calling It Home.
Each round, twenty design bloggers take the challenge and transform a space. For six weeks, the designers document their process while sharing their sources and professional advice. It’s always so much fun to see these spaces come together!
This Saturday I turn 30. That’s a weird sentence. Getting older has never really been a big deal to me because most of my friends are older, but 30 seems kind of big. I guess because it’s one of those milestone birthdays that you picture your whole life. Where will I be at 30?
While my life might not look exactly like I imagined (far from it actually), I’m pretty happy with where I am and am looking forward to the next decade!
